...it being on The Samba tells me it’s something VW-based, but why am I getting a strong Chrysler L-body vibe (like the “sportier” models, the Charger/Turismo and Rampage/Scamp)?

I'm fine with the doors and the back end, but that front end does have an 80s Chrysler vibe to it.
